NWT 2013
It was our annual No Whiners Tour trip to Lake Powell this last week. We had a great time and pretty decent weather. It was a smaller group this year due to lots of missionaries being gone and married kids with other obligations and responsibilities. It's hard to be a grown up.
We have been doing this for the past 11 years with these families and it is a favorite summertime tradition for our family. We enjoy and treasure the friendships we have made. Our families are all adding new members now and it just makes it better. It is safe to say that the 3rd generation enjoys Lake Powell just as much. Jane spent so much time in the water her little toes were raisins. She followed the "ten year old" girls around and did everything they did, watched their every move. I am grateful for their kindness, patience and good examples for her. Each night before bed we have devotionals. The ten year olds and up are assigned a night to do them in groups of two or three. It is so great to see them step up and prepare and give their message. They do a tremendous job in giving us reminders as to what we can do to become better. Nothing better than being spiritually fed under a sky full of stars in such beautiful surroundings.
Our spot this year was a winner. We were at the end of a canyon so we had privacy and lots of sand to play games. We played Kubb, ladder ball, Zim Zam, horse shoes, water volleyball. Tournaments were set up and there was some serious competition, our own Olympic games. Kubb is a fun game and if you have not tried it yet you must. My boys groomed and raked the playing field to perfection
