This year the theme chosen was 'Now is the time stand in Holy places'.
Kate designed me all the goodies for the 'time' capsules that the girls made at camp and the devotional favors they received each day.
We toured a few of historical sites in St. George. The Brigham Young house and the Tabernacle. This was one of my favorite things in the Tabernacle. It is a terrible picture but if you look closely there are 12 owls in a circle around the light fixture representing the 12 apostles who see all, and know all. ( I do have a slight obsession with owls ). I loved all the symbolism found throughout the building. I also loved the fig tree and cotton plants out back.
Surprise sunrise hike to Dixie Rock over looking the St. George Temple and the city lights.
We did a service project at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre in the afternoon and saw Mary Poppins later that night.
We stayed at Snow canyon and camped in tents. It was the first year in a very long time that our girls didn't have cabins, but we all survived. It was very hot!! Despite the heat we had an enjoyable time. The hottest day was 113 degrees. We went rappelling and boating and played at the splash park for a while.
